Sarah sitting in the gardens at Hidcote. As we couldn’t get away for a proper holiday we had a couple of nights away at a (stupidly expensive) hotel in Blockley in the Cotswolds. We spent one day pottering around Hidcote and inevitably bought plants and had some nice food!

We’ve also had a great night away with our friends Jane and Geoff in Warwick (the perfect hosts!!) and saw some of our old haunts in Leamington, where we lived for some years. The Jephson Gardens are still lovely and the museum and art gallery (and cakes) at the Pump Rooms are great. I’d really recommend a visit to the Victorian communal gardens in Warwick – lots of lovely gardens and a nice cafe! (Notice how much food features in my holidays – chemo has yet to affect my appetite).
